You may be taken back by many of these videos you are seeing of people using giant fancy machines, but the truth is, you don’t need all of that. Yeah they can make your life easier later down the road, but I made all of my first couple years of projects (including a queen size quilt and multiple twin size quilts!) on a cheap $50 machine my grandma gave me like 10 years ago!
I have since upgraded, but still nothing that fancy. As of writing this article, I use a Singer machine that was still only $150 at the time and I use it allllll the time! I then decided to treat myself a couple weeks ago, and get an embroidery machine! Still nothing fancy, only a couple hundred dollars (and obviously I got a deal!!).
I sew all sorts of things from quilts, to bags, to apparel, and more! I also do some pattern designing. I had to learn the long way how to do everything, but I am writing this blog so YOU don’t have to!
You don’t even need to spend a ton of money on fabric either. When you are learning, you should shop for the best deals. You don’t need to use the most expensive fabric you can find, you can save that for later once you have mastered these techniques!
Follow along with me each week as I take you through various projects I know you would enjoy trying out! Many of these ideas make GREAT gift ideas!
Share with me any ideas you have or would like to see 🙂
